Nearly 30 years ago the Starbucks at Lyon Village strip mall, located on the corner of Spout Run and Lee Highway and situated between CVS and The Italian Store, attracted a wide range of people both in North Arlington as well as commuters on the way to Washington, DC. Local folks would  keep seeing each other and would sit and talk while drinking coffee. Over the next decade those people began to routinely sit together and become more social. We have shared various food from our gardens and dishes prepared from time to time from those who are great and not so great cooks, had pictures taken, celebrated birthdays and holidays, and even held some celebratory and annual events elsewhere away from Starbucks. We range in age from the twenties to nineties and represent  a wide gamut of active and retired professions, services and skills.  They have been lawyers, photographers, business owners, legal and healthcare professionals, dog walker, entertainer, singer, musician,  hair stylist, renewable energy CEO, federal prosecutor, intelligence professional, insurance adjuster, IT specialist, court reporter, realtor and few others. We discuss current and past events, politics and history, dogs and cats, sing songs, celebrate birthdays and events, and at many times engage in conversations with those who walk by.  The motto we live by is "Good Times, Good Friends, Good Coffee”!!!
